Bowtie Engineering is a national electrical safety and engineering firm founded by John Welch, P.E., C.E.M., and headquartered in Cumming, Georgia. Led by licensed Professional Engineers, Bowtie helps facilities meet OSHA and NFPA 70E/70B compliance through arc flash studies, electrical safety training, NETA testing, energy solutions, and the proprietary BowVue™ platform. The firm has completed 900+ programs for data centers, manufacturers, industrial plants, and commercial facilities nationwide since 2015, and has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies three times.

Bowtie began as a specialist in arc flash studies and complex electrical engineering, built on a simple idea: the qualified workers exposing themselves to energized equipment rarely have the data they need to work safely — the PPE requirement, the condition of maintenance, the arc flash boundary. Founder John Welch, a licensed Professional Engineer and electrician, set out to close that gap. From arc flash studies, Bowtie expanded the same systems approach into electrical maintenance and NETA testing, energy solutions, and the BowVue™ platform — growing into a full-spectrum electrical safety firm serving national accounts across the United States and Canada.
Led by licensed Professional Engineers (P.E.) and a Certified Energy Manager (C.E.M.) — not trainers reselling a curriculum. Bowtie built its process and teaches it.
900+ safety and engineering programs completed for enterprise clients including Rolls-Royce, Amazon, and CleanSpark.
Three-time Inc. 5000 honoree (2020, 2022, 2024) — recognized among America's fastest-growing private companies.
BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, accredited since 2019.
Services aligned to NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, OSHA CFR 1910, IEEE 1584, and NETA standards.
National footprint — Bowtie standardizes electrical safety programs across multiple sites for clients operating throughout the U.S. and Canada.
